The practice of Wayne A. Nishio, O.D. provides complete physical eye exams and comprehensive evaluations of the visual system. We are a family practice and see patients of all ages from infants to geriatrics. Our doctors emphasize the prevention of vision problems to minimize dependency on glasses or contact lenses.
Your eye exam and visual evaluation includes checking for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and any other eye pathology. Special care is given to guarantee that your prescription for glasses or contact lenses will be correct.
Specialized testing equipment such as OCT 3-D scanning, digital photography of the inside and outside of the eye, and other state of the art instruments ensure that a thorough evaluation of your eyes is provided.
Our eye doctors treat and diagnose eye infections, red eyes, irritated or dry eyes, eye injuries, and perform foreign body removal. They co-manage laser lasik and cataract surgery.
One of the specialties offered at our office is low vision care. Low vision care provides the services necessary for the examination, diagnosis and treatment of individuals with vision problems not correctable with conventional glasses or contact lenses. These patients may have macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, or nerve damage affecting vision. After a thorough evaluation of the underlying cause, special low vision devices are prescribed. Low vision aids include magnifying glasses, specialty high powered telescopes and microscopes fitted to glasses, and electronic devices such as closed circuit TV.
We design our patient scheduling to maintain an efficient and relaxed environment.
