Wayne A. Nishio, O.D. Dr. Nishio completed the Doctor of Optometry degree and a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry. He completed a residency at the National Optometry Education Learning Center in Ohio. He earned a Masters degree in Education before finishing optometry school. He also graduated from California State University, Fresno with a degree in Biology. He manages offices in Clovis and Chowchilla which have been serving the area for over sixty years. His father founded the Chowchilla office, and his uncle the Clovis office. They transfered their practices to Dr. Wayne Nishio in 1982 and 1987. He is a member of the American Optometric Association. Dr. Nishio is trained and licensed to diagnose and treat eye disease and injury. He believes that certain vision problems are preventable with proper environmental and behavior awareness.
The Office is modern and well equipped with state of the art instrumentation including 3-D OCT scanning, digital photography, and other specialized testing equipment.
There is a full inventory of low vision aids such as high powered magnifiers, closed circuit tv, special filters, and other devices to aid the visually impaired.
Dr. Nishio enjoys golfing, backpacking, biking, and most of all spending time with his family. He treats his patients as friends and invites you to become a part of the practice.
